ROLL UP ROLL UP The Circus is in Town

ROLL UP ROLL UP
The Circus is in Town

Lennon Bros Circus is the oldest touring circus in Australia.
123 years ago, it started as a Buck jump show and has evolved into the sophisticated circus production witnessed today.

The show starts off with a display of a lion and his lionesses. From there it just kept getting better and better with each act. The Ring Master had the show running smoothly whilst Circus Clowns entertained the crowd between sets (don't worry, they are not creepy clowns!) Acrobats, strongmen and woman with feats of pure strength and concentration, Camels, Liberty Ponies plus the dog agility with the amazing puppy that walked across the raised tightrope had the audience entertained with roars of laughter.
At intermission there was pony rides for the kids. There is food and cold drinks available for purchase with your standard show time fare, of Dagwood dogs, fresh hot cinnamon donuts, fairy floss and popcorn all at reasonable prices.
The acrobats were unbelievable, It was a fun show with dramatics and not just performance. The performers costumes throughout the 2hr spectacular, had enough patterned fabric and sequins to put any costume shop to shame.
All in all, a great evening out with the family, for kids and kid-at-heart alike.
The circus is currently run by 5th generation brothers Geoff & Warren with 5th and 6th generations of the family represented in the program.
Lennon Bros Circus is one of only two circuses left in Australia with big cats in the program. The three lions at Lennon’s are now 12 years of age: two females and one male from different litters. They were born and bred in the circus, and are in fact 12th generation born and bred in Australia.

Other animals appearing in the show include:

  • Beautiful Liberty Ponies
  • Monkeys
  • Camels
  • Mini Donkeys
  • Dogs
The Lennon family employs a staff of 30 people, ranging in age from 3 to 65 years. To enable this large operation to move around Australia (by no means a small feat), they have 14 trucks, 5 semi-trailers and 14 caravans.
The Lennon family is very proud of their Australian heritage and aim to utilize the best of Australia performers as well as overseas artists. Be captivated by the antics of the clowns, awed by the majesty of the lions, and the daring of the aerialists, and be mesmerized by one of Australia’s largest flying trapeze troupe.
