Police have charged a 21-year-old man following investigations into the armed robbery of a takeaway food store in Bowen on Sunday night.
It will be alleged around 9pm a man entered the Herbert Street store and threatened two female employees with a knife before fleeing with a sum of cash from the register.
The two employees were not physically injured.
A 21-year-old Townsville man has been charged with one count of armed robbery and two counts of deprivation of liberty.
He will appear in the Bowen Magistrates Court today.

Police have released a comfit of a man they believe can assist with the armed robbery of a takeaway food store in Bowen on Sunday night at knifepoint.
Around 9pm, a man entered the Herbert Street store and threatened the two female employees with a knife before fleeing with a sum of cash from the register in a clear plastic shopping bag.
The man ran west along Livingstone Street towards Gregory Street with a search locating coins at that intersection believed to have been dropped by the offender.
The offender is described as Caucasian in appearance, aged in his late 20’s, between 175 and 180cms tall, with olive skin, short light coloured hair including a blonde “rats tail”, and a proportionate build.
At the time the man was wearing a black baseball cap, a yellow hi-visibility t-shirt with short sleeves and dark three-quarter length shorts.
The two employees, aged 14 and 18, were shaken up following the incident but not physically injured.
As part of their investigations, detectives are reviewing CCTV footage from nearby stores in the shopping complex.
Initial investigations suggest this offence was opportunistic in nature.

The staff members handed over a sum of cash to the man before he fled.
Neither staff member was physically injured.
