Rental misery - 2 rooms out of 5 uninhabitable

Update 14 January 2013

Update: 7.40pm Wed 26 December 2012
How we spent Christmas - Thank You PRD Nationwide Whitsundays.

Update: 10.40am Tue 23 October 2012

Today is the Fifth Month Anniversary of trying to get PRD Whitsunday to make one of the five rooms of my apartment back to a habitable state. That's a loss of $1,100 of living space, or 31 days (one month) of Rent. How should we commemorate?
How about a Live 'When Are PRD Whitsunday Going To Repair This Apartment' Remote Control WebCam?

Update : 2pm Fri 12 October 2012

Just had the Maintenance folks around to check the problems with the property and they have promised to return and fix it. Also just had a phone call from PRD Whitsundays to confirm that the Maintenance folks had been around, and requested that I remove this blog. I said this story will be removed when the repairs are completed.

Renting? How long does it take your Property agent to get repairs attended to?

Honestly, I'd like to know because I have been waiting five months for PRD Whitsundays to make habitable again one (now two) of the five rooms that make up my apartment / office here in Cannonvale. I have been asking them to fix the leak and mould in the Art Gallery since May this year - this is how it used to look:

In May this year, I had to get Telstra in to fix a crakling line - the technician found the fault to be at the phone socket in the Art Gallery - water was leaking down the inside of the wall. I advised PRD Whitsunday of the leak and provided them with images on May 23, 2012.

The leak in the Art Gallery has now extended to the second bedroom and water is dripping out of the ceiling light fixture, making this the second room in the apartment to become uninhabitable. Advised PRD Whitsunday by email with the attached images.
