Two men from Mackay, aged 38 and 30, died a traffic crash when their vehicle (travelling north) collided head on with another car today.
The crash occurred about 6.45am around 20km south of Bloomsbury (just north of Pindi Pini) on the Bruce Highway.
A 21-year-old Mackay man driving the northbound vehicle was taken to Mackay Hospital where he remains in a stable condition.
The southbound vehicle was driven by a 57-year-old Mackay man, he was taken to Mackay Hospital in a stable condition. His passenger, a 43-year-old Rockhampton man, was seriously injured and is currently in a critical condition in Mackay Hospital.
The highway was closed for several hours but has now re-opened.
Forensic Crash Unit are Investigating.
