It's hard to Smile when $50 Million goes missing

Almost $50 Million dollars less was spent by international tourists in the Whitsundays for the year ending 30 June 2011 compared to the year before according to the latest tourism figures.

Figures for the year ending June 2011 show that international visitors to the Whitsundays:
Spent $111M - Down 31% from $160M
Spent per visit: $597 - Down 20% from $749
Spent per night: $103 - Down 25% from $138
Average stay: 6 nights - up from 5
