We had hoped that someone would take responsibility for last weeks disastrous launch of the new Tourism Whitsundays logo and slogan.
But no.
Last week we exposed numerous, simple but monumental marketing failures by Tourism Whitsundays and Tourism Queensland, from disconnected Media Contact phone numbers, to non-existent Press Kits and Press Releases - that story can be found here.
We have proof that the Tourism Whitsundays CEO and management and Tourism Queensland knew of these errors at least by last Monday, five days ago.
They are still not fixed. There are three Marketing Managers based in Tourism Whitsundays.
What the hell are the members of Tourism Whitsundays paying for? For the region to be promoted, of for a private travel and entertainment club? Maybe its time the members asked the Directors of Tourism Whitsundays if they continue to have confidence with the management of Tourism Whitsundays.
Numerous, simple but mind boggling errors that accompanied last weeks campaign launch can not be ignored. With news today that international visitor numbers to the Whitsundays are down another 7%, it's time for those responsible for this continuing mess to take responsibility.
