Police and emergency services are currently at the scene of a fatal traffic crash on the Collinsville-Bowen Development Road 55kms west of Collinsville.
Preliminary information indicates that a semi trailer and a ute collided just before 4 this afternoon.
The driver of the ute, believed to be a Collinsville man in his late twenties, died at the scene.
He was the sole occupant of the ute.
The driver of the semitrailer was taken to Collinsville Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
The road is closed in both directions and is expected to remain so for some time.
Motorists are advised to remain patient, alter or delay travel times and those wishing to continue their journey should consider an alternative route.
The Forensic Crash Unit is at the scene and conducting investigations.
