- It was announced today that Cairns tourism numbers are down over 100,000 - Tick.
- Tourism spending in Cairns region down almost $200 million - Tick.
- Spending in Airlie Beach (just 20km from Hamilton Island) over the Xmas period was down 21% - Tick.
- Interest in travelling to Airlie Beach is at it lowest point this century - Tick.
Are our Tourism organizations relying too much on so called 'marketing gurus', paradigms, anagrams and buzz words?
The only winners in this campaign have been the marketing gurus and the restaurants and five star hotels they have frequented.
