What did the Whitsundays get in the QLD Budget
The Queensland Treasurer, Tim Nicholls MP, is currently delivering the Queensland State Budget for 2013-14 (on ABC1 TV now).
The Whitsundays has featured in the Budget - A Summary:
$2.1 million to upgrade and complete essential water and sewage treatment infrastructure in Bowen, Proserpine and Cannonvale.
$1.9 million to develop the Proserpine Neighbourhood Centre.
$400,000 over two years to the Whitsunday Regional Council towards upgrading the Collinsville library.
$500,000 to commence replacement of the ambulance station at Collinsville.
$10 million to upgrade the Bowen Developmental Road between Bowen and Collinsville.
$312,000 to Bowen State High School.
$4 million to expand and improve social housing (shared with Mackay).
$8.4 million to the Great Barrier Reef Marine Park Authority for the Marine Parks Field Management Program.
$880,000 for activities under the Reef Water Quality Protection Plan 2009, in partnership with the Australian Government.
