UPDATE: Body found off Hook Island

Police divers have located the body of man this evening believed to be that of a 22-year-old New Zealand national missing from a moored boat at Hook Island since this morning.
The occupants of the boat alerted police when the man fell overboard while sitting on the vessel in the Marcona Inlet around 12.50am.
Police will prepare a report for the Coroner on the death.

Whitsundays Water Police are coordinating a search and rescue operation after a man went missing off a boat moored at Marcona Inlet.
The man was sitting on the vessel when he fell overboard, and was last seen floating away from the boat at around 12.50am
The occupants of the vessel commenced a search, and alerted police.
Police are currently conducting water searches of the surrounding areas.
