Police have charged a man following a siege at Proserpine today.
Around 10am police were called to around 1 Dobbins Lane residence following reports of furniture being set alight on the footpath.
Upon their arrival they found a man in a residence allegedly making threats. Police negotiators attended and the man subsequently left the residence around 2.30pm and was arrested without incident.
It will also be alleged that a man set alight his vehicle at the rear of the Proserpine Police Station on Friday night.
A 31-year-old Proserpine man has been charged with willful damage, endangering particular property by fire, light unauthorised fire, leave unattended or fail to take steps to extinguish fire, found on or left police establishment without lawful excuse and obstruct police.
He is expected to appear at the Mackay Magistrates Court on January 9.
