Hamilton Island Water Sports Boat overturns

It is believed the boat that capsized in Turtle Bay, Whitsunday Island during a storm on Tuesday  was from Hamilton Island Waters Sports, taking 11 folks out on a regular half-day fishing trip.


Doris Wibowo, 31 of Ingleburn, Sydney, was located in the cabin of the boat yesterday evening after a large search of the waters between Whitsunday and Hamilton Islands.

Police are not treating the death as suspicious and a post mortem is due to be conducted today.

Police are currently searching for a missing person off Whitsunday Island.
Initial information indicates that a 10 meter vessel has overturned just after 5.00 this evening at Turtle Bay.
11 of the12 occupants have been accounted for, but one remains missing.
Police have commenced a search of the area, however weather conditions remain adverse.
There is no further information available at this time.

Prayers are with all concerned, my family and i were also caught up in the storm on a catemeran coming back from Barrier Reef very scarey stuff, may god be with all.
