Whitsundays Update

6.30am Thursday 6 January 2011

Whitsunday WebCams

All roads into and within the Whitsundays are OPEN.

Conditions here are all normal and folks are enjoying their holidays.

The Bruce Highway has been cut at Rockhampton, around a six hour drive south of here. Signs have been posted just south of Mackay advising this. The highway could be closed for several days. Police are advising travellers to stop at Gladstone (if heading North) or at Whitsundays / Mackay if heading South.

Latest Road Closures in the Whitsundays can be found by following us on Twitter at http://twitter.com/QLDWhitsundays , or you can follow the those posts by viewing our RSS Feed.

There have been media reports that we are experiencing shortages in some certain foods, however I did a quick shop at Coles yesterday and didn't see any obvious signs of shortages or panic buying.
