OUT OF DATE - PLEASE GO HERE FOR LATEST INFO
Due to the continuing wet conditions currently being experienced across the central region police are urging motorists to drive with caution.
The Capricorn Highway west of Dingo is currently closed due to floodwater.
The Bruce Highway north of Marlborough is currently only passable by trucks with 300mm of water across the road. Further road closures throughout the area are expected if the rain continues.
People intending to travel from Rockhampton to Mackay or Emerald areas are advised to take extreme caution and not to attempt to drive through floodwaters.
Motorists are urged to obey road closure signage. Flooded roads, creeks and water courses should be avoided and road conditions can change rapidly as water can rise and fall quickly. Non-essential travel in flood affected areas should be limited where possible.
Members of the public should monitor local radio stations for updates and contact support agencies such as the government’s Traffic and Travel Information Line on 13 19 40 (http://131940.qld.gov.au/) or their local council for road closure updates or the RACQ.
