Whitsunday Mayor Mike Brunker.
The Australian - Monday 22 November 2010.
Today is the last official day of Schoolies here in Airlie Beach, Whitsunday. Schoolies Week this year ran from 20 - 24 November.
Followers of our Twitter and Facebook News services, plus many Airlie Beach locals may disagree with the mayor. However, local opinion to Schoolies is mixed.
Now, we don't hear every thing that goes on, and, due to the lack of news bureaux and independent media here, very little bad news gets out.
