Ironic, Intentional or just Bad Layout?

Whitsundays Online

The Whitsunday Times reported this week (20 August 2009) about the 'hot topic' of the proposed new laws where 'Adult Shops' were allowed to operate.

One of the proposed zoning laws will not allow Adult Shops to operate within 200 metres of churches, schools, childcare centres, and other 'sensitive use' community facilities.

'The Hot Topic' about where Adult Shops could and could not be located, started last year in April when the Whitsunday Times reported that an Adult Shop had opened in Proserpine, 20 metres from St Catherine's Primary School.

Maybe we could also apply similar standards, ethics, and/or laws for newspapers in relation to the location of 'Adult Ads' in the vicinity of Church, Childcare, Community and School articles.

Ironically, On page 38 of the same edition of the Whitsunday Times, we have a great picture and story about the Cannonvale Public School students, and how they care and protect their 'adopted beach', Cannonvale Beach.

20mm to the left of the kiddies standing proudly in the picture are 7 'Adult Ads', informing us of Asian Dolls and Cover Girls, Busty and Bubbly Blondes, and a Super Sexy Model for hire.

Articles obtained from pages 3 and 38 of the Whitsundays Times, 20 August 2009.
