The redevelopment of Great Keppel Island (off Yeppoon - Rockhampton) has been given 'Significant Project Status'. The decision paves the way for a full Queensland Government assessment of the project.'Significant Project Status' was given to the Port of Airlie project here in the Whitsundays.
Editors Note : It is believed that Wayne Kirkpatrick (ex Hamilton Island CEO) is involved in this project. The last time the Editor was on GKI was in July 2007, and the resort was abandoned several weeks later.
