Whitsundays OnlinePolice have charged a 28-year-old man after he allegedly raped a woman on Hamilton Island at around 3am this morning.
The man, of Hamilton Island, has been bailed to appear in Proserpine Magistrates Court on July 13. The man and woman were known to each other.
This is the second reported rape on Hamilton Island in less than 3 months. On Saturday 28 March this year, a 29 year old NSW man broke into a house on Hamilton Island and raped a 19 year old woman.
