Around midnight, it is believed a 21-year-old man and a 39-year-old-man became involved in an altercation, as a result the 39-year-old sustained a wound to his arm consistent with a gun shot.
Both men were transported to hospital for treatment.
A 59-year-old-man has been charged with one count each unlawful wounding, possession of an unregistered weapon and fail to secure a weapon.
He is due to face Townsville Magistrates Court on June 1.
It is believed the men are known to each other.
Police investigations are continuing.
