Weather Situation: A trough and associated dry line is combining with an upper low to aid thunderstorm development over southeast Queensland. Very dangerous thunderstorms are likely to produce destructive winds, large, possibly giant hailstones and heavy rainfall that may lead to flash flooding over the next several hours in parts of the Southeast Coast district. Locations which may be affected include Gold Coast, Beenleigh, Beaudesert, Jimboomba and Mount Tamborine. Severe thunderstorms are likely to produce damaging winds and heavy rainfall that may lead to flash flooding over the next several hours in the Capricornia and parts of the Central Coast and Whitsundays and Wide Bay and Burnett districts. Locations which may be affected include Bundaberg, Rockhampton, Mackay, Yeppoon, Gin Gin and Mount Morgan. Severe thunderstorms are likely to produce damaging winds, large hailstones and heavy rainfall that may lead to flash flooding over the next several hours in the Southeast Coast and parts of the Wide Bay and Burnett and Darling Downs and Granite Belt districts. Locations which may be affected include Brisbane, Maroochydore, Gympie, Coolangatta and Ipswich. Queensland Fire and Emergency Services advises that people should: * Move your car under cover or away from trees. * Secure loose outdoor items. * Never drive, walk or ride through flood waters.
