QLD Flood Watch: North Tropical Coast between Tully and Proserpine
Source: Bureau of Meteorology Issued at 12:51 pm EST on Friday 8 January 2021 Flood Watch Number: 9 Minor flooding is possible in the Flood Watch area later Friday and across the weekend. Rainfall is expected to continue along the Queensland coast between Tully and Proserpine during Friday and across the weekend. Heavy rainfall from showers and thunderstorms are possible. Most catchments in the Flood Watch area have received rainfall over the past week and are expected to respond quickly to further rainfall. Renewed river level rises and minor flooding are likely. Localised flooding and disruption to transport routes are possible. Catchments likely to be affected include: Tully River Murray River Herbert River Black River Ross and Bohle Rivers Haughton River Burdekin River to Burdekin Falls Dam Burdekin River downstream of Burdekin Falls Dam Don and Proserpine Rivers Flood Warnings are current in the following catchments: Murray, Herbert and lower Burdekin.
