Source: Bureau of Meteorology Issued at 12:41 pm EST on Sunday 26 January 2020 Flood Watch Number: 3 Major flooding is possible in parts of the Flood Watch area early next week. Heavy rainfall will continue in the Flood Watch area over the next few days. Areas in the western part of the Flood Watch are a focus for multiple days of heavy rainfall, including Mt Isa, Cloncurry and Boulia. On the east coast between Ingham and Mackay, and inland to Charters Towers, heavy rainfall is expected to start from early Monday morning. This is expected to continue until Wednesday or Thursday, with some locations experiencing multiple days of heavy rainfall. Recent showers and storms across the Flood Watch area are beginning to respond with river level rises being recorded in a number of places. Localised flooding is expected in response to any further heavy showers and thunderstorms. Major flood levels are possible in the western part of the Flood Watch area early next week, where multiple days of heavy rainfall are more likely.
