A 51-year-old man from Proserpine will face nine drug charges following the discovery of an alleged clandestine drug laboratory at Gregory River in the Proserpine area yesterday.
Police made the discovery after executing a search warrant at an address on the Bruce Highway at around 9.45am.
It will be alleged the laboratory was manufacturing amphetamines.
A number of cannabis plants and other drug paraphernalia were also located during the search.
The 51-year-old man has been charged with two counts each of producing dangerous drugs and possessing dangerous drugs, and one count each of possessing relevant substances or things, possession of a prohibited combination of items, publishing or possessing instructions for producing dangerous drugs, possess utensils and possessing anything used in the commission of crime.
He was also charged with three offences under the Weapons Act 1990 and is scheduled to appear in the Proserpine Magistrates Court this morning.
