Quake shakes Southern Whitsundays

A journo from the ABC has advised that Geoscience Australia believe the quake was a coal mine blast.

A magnitude 3.0 Quake has shaken many villages to the West of Mackay, according to Geoscience Australia..

Could have been felt by people up to 23km away

According to the report from GA, the quake was also felt in Mt Ossa, Eungella, Pinnacle and Gargett.

In Marian, one person has reported ""Heard a rumble here (like a van door sliding closed) but didn't feel anything - I'm not that far from it".

At 7pm, there had been no reports of damage.

It was not felt here in Woodwark (Airlie Beach).
