For people in the Central Coast and Whitsundays and parts of the Central Highlands and Coalfields, Central West, Capricornia and Maranoa and Warrego Forecast Districts.

Issued at 11:35 am Monday, 16 November 2015.

Severe thunderstorms are likely to produce damaging winds and large hailstones in the warning area over the next several hours. Locations which may be affected include Mackay, Proserpine, Collinsville, Sarina, Charleville, Mitchell, Tambo, Blackall and Carnarvon National Park.

Queensland Fire and Emergency Services advises that people should:
* Move your car under cover or away from trees.
* Secure loose outdoor items.
* Seek shelter, preferably indoors and never under trees.
* Avoid using the telephone during a thunderstorm.
* Beware of fallen trees and powerlines.
* For emergency assistance contact the SES on 132 500.

For people in the Central Coast and Whitsundays, Capricornia and parts of the Herbert and Lower Burdekin, Central Highlands and Coalfields and Wide Bay and Burnett Forecast Districts.

Issued at 4:49 pm Sunday, 15 November 2015.

Severe thunderstorms are likely to produce damaging winds, heavy rainfall that may lead to flash flooding and large hailstones in the warning area over the next several hours. Locations which may be affected include Bundaberg, Gladstone, Rockhampton, Mackay, Proserpine and Bowen.

Severe thunderstorms are no longer occurring in the Northern Goldfields and Upper Flinders district and the warning for this district is CANCELLED.

Queensland Fire and Emergency Services advises that people should:
* Move your car under cover or away from trees.
* Secure loose outdoor items.
* Avoid driving, walking or riding through flood waters.
* Seek shelter, preferably indoors and never under trees.
* Avoid using the telephone during a thunderstorm.
* Beware of fallen trees and powerlines.
* For emergency assistance contact the SES on 132 500.

EXCLUSIVE: Proserpine Airport to accept International Flights in February

Proserpine (Whitsunday Coast - PPP) Airport will receive two international flights from Asia in February.

Two charter flights operated by South China Airlines (or possibly Cathay Pacific) will land at Proserpine Airport, most likely on the 5th and 6th of February.

Details and schedules are yet to be finalised, however these two flights will be used as trials to see if Proserpine (Whitsunday Coast) Airport is capable of becoming the 5th international passenger airport in Queensland.

More information will be posted as it comes to hand.

Severe thunderstorms are no longer occurring in the Central Highlands and Coalfields district and the warning for this district is CANCELLED.
